About Pubs and Clubs

The 15th Annual Staines Boat Club Pubs & Clubs Regatta will take place on Saturday 19th April 2008.

The boat club will provide boats and a cox/coach to train each crew. Training takes place during March & April, with each crew allowed up to 5 x 1 hour sessions on the water. This is usually sufficient to ensure success on race day.

On regatta day, separate events will be held for men and for women with heats taking place throughout the day (commencing approx 9am). The course is about 350 metres long and is completed by most crews in less than 2 minutes. All crews that are unsuccessful in the first round of the Cup event will be entered into the Plate event so that each crew has at least two races.

Entry costs only £120 per crew (£30 per seat) and includes temporary Staines Boat Club membership and the use of the club’s facilities throughout the training and race period. There are prizes for the winners of the Cup and Plate competitions.
