Friday - Time Trial Our 4- arrived at Henley Women's on the Thursday evening to practice on the course for the very first time and returned on Friday morning for their Time Trial supported by family and friends including the heavily pregnant Womens Ex-Captain Georgina. They pushed hard the whole way down the course and then nervously waited to find out if they had done enough... They had. They've made it through to the final 16 who will race on Saturday, Congratualtions! Also entered was a composite in the Junior Double Sculls of Staines and Gordon's School. Unfortunatly they did not progress through to the final 16, but had a good time trial result - well done girls! Saturday - Side by Side
Our Henley Women's hopefuls in the 4- entered Reading Amateur Regatta as their last regatta before the Time Trials next Friday. They were drawn against Molesey so knew it was going to be a tough race. The girls held onto Molesey until the last 500m where Molesey pulled ahead and won by just over a length, truely a valiant effort! Best of luck with the Time Trials next week ladies - the whole club is rooting for you.
They managed to book the beautiful weather again for this year's Regatta, unfortunately the stroke of the W4- for this race woke up to a very sore back on Saturday morning, but she decided to try to compete anyway. Despite the injury they still managed to come 4th! However the race had taken its toll on stroke's back and so the team has scratched from Sunday's race so stroke can recover before Henley Women's - wishing you a swift recovery!
