Squads

What ever your goal you'll receive plenty of support and encouragement from the dedicated coaches at SBC.

Juniors

We have a thriving an junior section, made up of 13 to 18 year old boys and girls.

Seniors

We have active men's and women's squads catering from Novices right through to elite rowers.

Coxing

Whether you're a dab hand at coxing - or just fancy taking the reigns - new members are always welcome.

Masters

For the older members of the rowing fraternity, we have a section to cater for your needs whether it be racing, training or a more social paddle.

Leisure Rowing

For those who would like to take their hand at competing at an entry level.

Families and Volunteers

Although not necessarily thought of a squad, families and volunteers are the support team of our rowing club.

We cater for all ages, abilities and ambition

Juniors

We have a thriving and enthusiastic group of juniors, and the squad prides itself on being very welcoming and friendly!

We train Mondays and Wednesdays 6pm-8pm, and Saturdays and Sundays 10am-12pm

Competitive rowing does require commitment and motivation so it is important that juniors are self motivated. We find that our juniors are capable of balancing their schoolwork with their rowing.

How do I get involved? Contant our Junior Co-ordinator Lynn Luscher.

Seniors

Just moved to the area and looking for somewhere to row?

Or perhaps you've seen a bunch of lunatics ploughing up and down the river in the cold and wet and thought it looked like fun!

Either way you are welcome to join us.

We like to strike a balance between competing at the highest levels of domestic club rowing (The Head of the River, Men's and Women's Henley and the National Championships), as well as take part in the more fun regattas throughout the summer.

For more information contact Andy Punter or Claire Couves.

Masters

Don't worry if you have been 'laid up' for a few years as all technical and fitness levels are catered for in a variety of crews, from the top flight through to those who wish to stay fit and take part in regattas and also those who just want an outing with friends.

Leisure Rowers

New to rowing?  Or just returning after many years away?  Have a competitive streak and want to do a bit more than leisurely rowing?  This is your place!  Fun and friendly competitions within the Thames Valley Explore Rowing are catered to you!

Coxing

We always welcome new folks to cox. Enjoy weekends on the river, but don't necessarily want to row?  Want to join in the fun of the summer regattas and events?  Like the feeling of steering a crew through competitive races?  This is your place!

Contact Martin Corless for more information.

Families and volunteers

Staines Boat Club is run entirely by volunteers and we are keen to involve parents, spouses, friends and family in the club.

Please come and join us for tea or coffee in the clubhouse during or after training sessions, and to talk to the coaches and coordinators.

We value the support of families and their input to the club.
