[Also thank you to the others who volunteered to help.] This will work in the following way: Any Senior or Master wanting to us a Club single, double or pair must email James on firstname.lastname@example.org asking to use a boat at a set time. Please do not email James’ personal email with boat requests – these will be ignored Privately owned boats can be used at any time without any need for booking a time slot James has a list of Club boats available and will allocate broadly on a first come, first served basis although we will monitor this to make sure everyone who wants to scull/row gets a fair
I’m pleased to be able to say that both sculling trials over the weekend went well with no incidents or concerns about breaching social distancing requirements. On Saturday, three singles went out and on Sunday there was 10 boats in total comprising singles, a double (crewed by cohabiting people) and some of the dragon boaters. In undertaking the trials, we learned several things which have formed the basis of the rules going forward. These procedures will remain in place until the next relaxation of Government lockdown restrictions and more updated guidance from British Rowing at which point the Committee will update the applicable Club procedures. I am very pleased to inform you that we are beginning to restart on-water activities. This follows the changes to Government advice earlier this week and the updated guidance from British Rowing and the EA. As you can imagine, we are going to have to do this slowly and carefully to make sure that all those taking part remain safe and we limit the possibility of transfer of Covid-19 to the absolute minimum.
