The racing started early at 8.30am with the WJ15 singles races. Kathryn & Ellie were to discover just how tough the Ross course can be, with a long bend, strong stream and huge staggered finish. Both lost but this gave them the vital experience they needed for success in their later races. Next was Fi & Olive who also were only just beaten. It was only when the boys started racing that our fortunes turned to our favour. Harry & Christian G in the J15 double beating City of Bristol RC ensuring a Staines Vs Staines Final and our first win. After a dramatic Final which had to be stopped and re-rowed it was Harry & Christian G that beat Will & Tyler in the J15 double. However the two crews came


As the memory of a rainy 2016 Regatta is allowed to fade, to be replaced by warm sunshine hazy late August sunshine which made the day so special. The girls and boys of the junior squad were ready for this moment and we saw many fine performances on the water with most of our crews qualifying through heats to a final. The Junior Women did particularly well with ALL of the girls qualify into a final in at least one event today..they were lead by our youngest Junior athlete competing this weekend. Polly Waters put in a stunning 'first ever race beating a girl at the least a year older than herself, perhaps more. In her final race she only lost by 2ft at the finish. We wish Polly much luck in

Maidenhead Regatta 2017

A still and sunny summer morning on the peaceful River Thames at Maidenhead was the scene that greeted the Staines Boat Club crews racing in this Regatta Kathryn & Ellie in the Women's Junior 15 double sculls were first to race against a crew from the home club. After a short battle off the start the SBC girls took charge of the race and were ahead all the way to the finish where they qualified for a place in the Final. Next were the Masters Novice Women Coxed Quad being steered by Olivia Bennett in the Cox seat.
