The original SBC Closure was put in place until the end of April. Given the fact that the current Government restrictions remain in place, the Committee have decided that the closure should be extended until the end of May. We will review the situation towards the end of May and update again accordingly. Should Government guidance change before then, the Committee will review any new information to determine if we consider it safe to resume any training activities in advance of that date. In the meantime, I thank you all for following the current closure and hope that you and your families remain safe and healthy. Alan Douglas President, SBC
I am saddened to inform you all of the passing of Rachel Brown. Rachel was part of the Senior Women's squad for a number of years and represented the Club in many Head races and Regattas. She died as a result of a road traffic accident earlier this week while cycling to work. I have written to her family to express all our condolences and pass on the best wishes from all at Staines Boat Club at this time. I would ask you to respect the privacy of her family. Rachel's passing will be properly recognised when the Club has been reopened. R.I.P.
