Monmouth Regatta 2017 Sunday Part 1

Sunday and the weather was perfect for Rowing with bright Sunshine yet not too hot, a slight breeze on the water to help cool those racing. The Regatta on Sunday is a sprint race of 750 metres downstream. This distance seemed to suit the Staines Boat Club crews well with many qualifying through heats into the the Final. Our supporters had plenty of great Rowing action to watch and I'm sure that many of them will still have 'soar throats' today after shouting in encouragement of our racing crews. They were rewarded for their support because we achieved some wonderful WINS during the Regatta. We didn't have to wait long for the first WIN in Race 2 of the day. It was the boys and girl Coxswain in the J15 4x+ who dominated their race from the start winning by a considerable distance over their opponents. This result means they are champions in this event in the two day Regatta .
