I am saddened to have to inform the Club and its friends of the sudden passing of Tim Capell earlier this week. Tim had been a member of SBC for many years (decades even) and spent several years on the Committee as well for which he had been granted Life Membership.

He leaves behind many friends and also his wife, Jo Wilby, who he met at SBC.

Our thoughts are with Jo and her family at this time. If you would like to attend his funeral, details are below, please email president@stainesboatclub.co.uk

Also so that your donation and Gift Aid can be allocated correctly to the Memorial Garden (as there is also the Sue Ryder house - St Katherine’s Parmoor), would you send an email to office@srpf.org.uk advising your name and how much you have donated. Only then can the funds be traced and allocated correctly to the Walled Garden. Thank you.

Please would you RSVP for catering purposes as I need to confirm numbers with Phyllis Court.

I’m truly sorry to hear about the passing of Tim Capell. His dedication to SBC and the friendships he built over the years are a testament to the kind of person he was. My thoughts go out to Jo Wilby and all of Tim’s family and friends during this difficult time. It’s clear he had a profound impact on many, and the planned services seem like a beautiful way to honor his memory.

For those attending, it’s heartwarming to see the request for donations to the Lady Ryder Memorial Garden, ensuring that Tim’s legacy continues to be felt in a place he cherished.

On a different note, for anyone juggling studies while navigating personal loss, getting academic support can be helpful.…

Came across this a year on, very shocked and saddened. Sincerest condolences to all who knew and loved Tim. Small donation made to reflect fond memories of the 1990s, RAC, Brands Hatch and Chiltern days, Ravenscroft, Garston. Goodbye Woo. P. x
